Welcome to the video element of Spring 2023.
A short meditative film piece capturing the atmosphere within the slack (the valley between dune ridges).
Whilst the wind blows overhead a calm space opens up in the spring sunshine where Skylark song is clearly heard as it hovers, singing over its hollow in the marram grass.
Skylarks breed between April and July and can lay up to 6 eggs in 2-3 clutches each year but due to more intensive farming practices this has become a major obstacle to the growth of their dwindling population in the UK.
